- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 8 slices swiss cheese
- 8 slices turkey
- 8 slices ham
- 8 slices texas-style white bread
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil (optional)

Steps
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, egg, milk, salt, and sugar in a shallow bowl.
- Layer each sandwich with Swiss cheese, turkey, ham, and another slice of cheese between two bread slices.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich in the batter, then fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
- Check that the thickest part of the poultry reaches 165 F before serving.
- Dust the sandwiches with powdered sugar and serve with raspberry jam.
