Ingredients
- 4 turkey legs
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup minced shallots
- 1 1/2 tbsp molasses
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- sea salt (optional)
- freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Steps
- Combine the blueberries, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, garlic, shallots, molasses, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan.
- Simmer the sauce over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, then season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a covered grill to 375 F and season the turkey legs with salt and pepper.
- Grill the turkey legs over indirect heat for 30 to 35 minutes, turning every 10 minutes.
- Brush the legs with sauce and grill for 5 minutes more, until they reach 165 F at the thickest part.
- Serve the remaining warm sauce with the turkey legs.
