Ingredients
- 2 lb large white mushrooms
- 16 oz ground mild italian sausage
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp green onion or chives (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Remove the mushroom stems and arrange the caps in the dish.
- Cook the sausage and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat for 7 minutes, breaking it up until it reaches 165 F.
- Stir in the cream cheese, green onion, parsley, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs.
- Fill the mushroom caps and bake for 18 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is hot.
