Ingredients
- 2 packages (12 oz) white button mushrooms
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
- 1 package (8 oz) sausage
- 1/4 cup butter (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with oil.
- Wipe the mushrooms clean, remove the stems, and arrange the caps in the dish.
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until no pink remains and it reaches 160 F, about 10 minutes.
- Stir the cream cheese into the hot sausage until the filling is smooth.
- Spoon the sausage mixture into the mushroom caps and dot them with butter if using.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is bubbling.
