8 oz german sweet chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups vanilla sugar or 1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
icing sugar (optional)

Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
Beat the cream cheese, 4 tablespoons butter, 1/3 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons flour, and 2 teaspoons vanilla until smooth.
Melt the German chocolate and 1/2 cup butter together, then let the mixture cool slightly.
Beat 4 eggs, 1 1/4 cups sugar, and 2 teaspoons vanilla in a second bowl, then mix in the melted chocolate.
Stir in 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt, then spread half the batter in the pan.
Spoon the cream cheese mixture and remaining batter over it, swirl gently with a knife, and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
Cool the cake in the pan for 20 minutes, then remove the sides and cool completely.
