Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter softened to room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder regular or dutch processed
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 10 oz chopped white chocolate
- assorted sprinkles and candies for decorating
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets.
- Beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, then mix in the eggs and vanilla.
- Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then stir them into the butter mixture.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, scoop the dough onto the sheets, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Cool the cookies completely while melting the chopped white chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
- Dip half of each cookie into the white chocolate and let the coating firm for 10 minutes.
