Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- rainbow sprinkles (optional)
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp water
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a six-well donut pan with butter.
- Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons melted butter, the egg, 1/3 cup milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until just combined.
- Divide the batter among the donut wells and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the donuts spring back.
- Mash the strawberries, then stir them with the confectioners sugar, water, remaining milk, and remaining vanilla until smooth.
- Cool the donuts for 5 minutes, dip their tops in the strawberry frosting, and add the sprinkles.
