Ingredients
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- sea salt for topping (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat, then cool it for 5 minutes.
- Whisk the pumpkin, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and sugar in a medium bowl.
- Stir the flour, cocoa, pumpkin spice, and baking powder into the pumpkin mixture.
- Spread the batter in the pan and sprinkle the top with sea salt if using.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center is set, then cool before cutting.
