Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 10 oz french baguette
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/2 cup pecans
Steps
- Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with some of the butter.
- Slice the baguette and arrange the pieces in the dish.
- Whisk the eggs, half and half, and vanilla, then pour the custard over the bread.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate it for 6 hours.
- Heat the oven to 350 F and warm the remaining butter with the maple syrup in a saucepan.
- Pour the maple mixture over the bread, sprinkle with pecans, and bake for 40 minutes until the eggs are firm.
