Ingredients
- 12 whole wheat slider buns
- 1 cup low-sodium marinara sauce
- 12 meatballs
- 1 1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried italian herbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F.
- Warm the olive oil in a large skillet, then stir in the garlic powder and Italian herbs for 30 seconds.
- Add the marinara and meatballs, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, until the meatballs reach 165 F.
- Split the buns and place them in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish, then fill them with meatballs and sauce.
- Top with mozzarella and parmesan, then bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
