1 loaf french bread
1/2 cup salted butter
1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Steps

Heat the oven to 400 F.
Slice the French bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
Mix the butter, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, and pepper in a bowl.
Spread the butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
