Ingredients
- 1 kg beef flank steak
- 200 g tomato sauce
- 200 g mozzarella
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 100 g green olives
- to taste salt (optional)
- to taste pepper (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 425 F and place the flank steak in a lightly oiled 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper, then bake for 20 minutes.
- Spread the tomato sauce over the steak and sprinkle with oregano and sliced olives.
- Top with mozzarella and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the beef reaches 145 F and the cheese melts.
- Rest the steak for 5 minutes, then slice it across the grain.
