Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb thinly sliced flank steak or rouladen cut steaks
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp powdered ginger or 1 tbsp freshly minced ginger
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp corn starch
Steps
- Set a 6-quart pressure cooker to sauté, heat the oil, and brown the beef in batches for 3 minutes.
- Add the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and rice vinegar, then stir and scrape the pot.
- Lock the lid and cook at high pressure for 5 minutes, then release pressure carefully.
- Mix the cornstarch with the remaining water until smooth.
- Set the cooker to sauté, stir in the cornstarch mixture, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened and the beef reaches 145 F.
