- 7 plain croissants
- 8 oz swiss cheese
- 4 oz smoked salmon or 4 ounces cooked ham
- 2 tbsp fresh chives or 2 tablespoons green onions
- 12 large eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking oil.
- Cut the croissants into pieces, then layer them with the Swiss cheese, smoked salmon or cooked ham, and chives.
- Whisk the eggs, milk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants and let the dish stand for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until the center is set and the eggs are cooked firm.
