Ingredients
- 2 lb tilapia fillets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups panko
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- salt and freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Steps
- Cut the tilapia into finger-size strips and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the flour, beaten eggs, and panko in three separate shallow bowls.
- Coat each fish strip in flour, egg, and panko, pressing gently so the crumbs stick.
- Stir the mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl.
- Heat a thin layer of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and fry the fish for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and flaky at 145 F.
- Drain the fish on a plate and serve with lemon wedges and the garlic mayonnaise.
