- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line baking sheets with parchment.
- Beat the first butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then beat in one egg.
- Stir the first flour, salt, and baking soda into that mixture to make cookie dough.
- Melt the chocolate chips with the second butter, then beat in the remaining sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Stir the cocoa, second flour, baking powder, and salt into the chocolate mixture to make brownie batter.
- Scoop portions of both mixtures onto the sheets and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until set.
