Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and lightly oil two baking sheets.
- Melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, then cool for 5 minutes.
- Beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs in a large bowl until smooth.
- Whisk the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then stir them into the chocolate mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and drop 24 spoonfuls onto the baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, then cool the cookies on the sheets for 5 minutes.
