Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
- 12 oz 60% cocoa bittersweet chocolate
- 6 large eggs
- 1 tbsp plus 1 teaspoon mccormick's pure vanilla extract
- 1 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line a 9-by-13-inch pan with buttered parchment.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Whisk six eggs, vanilla, and 1 2/3 cups sugar into the chocolate mixture, then stir in 1 1/2 cups flour and salt.
- Fold in the hazelnuts, spread the batter in the pan, and reserve a few spoonfuls for swirling.
- Mix the mascarpone, egg yolk, 1 tablespoon flour, and 2 tablespoons sugar, then spoon it over the batter and swirl with the reserved batter.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center is set and the edges are firm, then cool for 10 minutes.
