Ingredients
- 3/4 cup coconut sugar
- 10 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp madagascar bourbon vanilla extract
- 14 tbsp almond flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp coconut flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 5 tbsp amoretti almond coconut dark chocolate spread
- 4 large strawberries (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and lightly oil a 6-inch round cake pan.
- Whisk the coconut sugar, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla in a medium bowl.
- Stir in the almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Spread half the batter in the pan, spoon the chocolate spread over it, and cover with the remaining batter.
- Press the strawberries into the top if using, then bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is firm.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 20 minutes before cutting.
