Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 oz semisweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 4 drops green food coloring
- 1/4 cup finely chopped candied red cherries
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 4 drops red food coloring
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and butter a baking sheet.
- Beat the butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth, then beat in the egg and vanilla.
- Stir in the flour to make a soft dough, divide it into three portions, and mix chocolate into one portion.
- Mix pecans and green food coloring into the second portion, then mix cherries, almond extract, and red food coloring into the third.
- Shape the three portions into equal logs, press them together, wrap them in a log, and chill for 15 minutes.
- Slice the log, arrange the pieces on the baking sheet, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
