Ingredients
- 4 lb chuck roast
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 envelope good seasons zesty italian salad dressing mix
- 1 tbsp italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 oz plus more for toasting rolls butter
- 7 oz provolone
- 6 fresh french rolls or hoagie rolls
Steps
- Place the chuck roast in a slow cooker and add the beef broth, Italian dressing mix, Italian seasoning, pepper, and butter.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, until the beef is tender and reaches at least 145 F.
- Shred the beef in the slow cooker and stir it into the cooking juices.
- Split the rolls, brush them with butter, and toast them at 400 F for 5 minutes.
- Fill the rolls with beef and provolone, then return them to the oven for 2 minutes to melt the cheese.
