Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp cold butter
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
- 2 slices cooked
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar + extra for topping (optional)
- 2/3 cup milk
Steps
- Heat the oven to 425 F and grease a baking sheet with cooking oil.
- Whisk the flours, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture has coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the rosemary, chopped cooked slices, cheddar, and milk until a soft dough forms.
- Pat the dough into a 1-inch-thick round and cut it into nine biscuits.
- Bake the biscuits for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
