- 1 french baguette
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk ricotta
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil (optional)
- 2 tsp whole milk
- kosher salt (optional)
- freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- fresh herbs (optional)
- honey (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and slice the baguette into 16 even pieces.
- Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once.
- Rub the warm slices with the garlic clove.
- Stir the ricotta, lemon zest, milk, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
- Spread the ricotta over the toasted bread and finish with optional herbs or honey.
