Ingredients
- 9 slices rye bread
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
- 8 oz corned beef
- 1 cup sauerkraut
- 2 cups shredded swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup thousand island dressing
- 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking oil.
- Stir the melted butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and caraway seeds in a small bowl.
- Cut the bread into cubes, toss them with the butter mixture, and reserve one-third for the topping.
- Layer half the bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese, dressing, pickles, and remaining bread in the baking dish.
- Top with the reserved bread and bake for 45 minutes, until hot and lightly browned.
- Rest the casserole for 10 minutes before cutting.
