Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 knob ginger
- 1 tsp chinese five-spice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- chili paste to taste (optional)
- 1 lb ground pork
- 5 1/2 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
- 3 large carrots
- rice and green onions for serving (optional)
Steps
- Shred the cabbage and carrots, then mince the garlic and ginger.
- Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat and cook the garlic and ginger for 2 minutes.
- Add the ground pork and cook for 4 minutes, breaking it apart, until it reaches 160 F.
- Stir in the cabbage and carrots and cook for 5 minutes until tender.
- Add the five-spice, soy sauce, and chili paste if using, and cook for 2 minutes.
