- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Melt the butter, stir in the brown sugar, then beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
- Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then fold in the pecans and white chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 to 28 minutes, until the center is set.
- Beat the butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, maple syrup, and some vanilla until smooth.
- Cool the blondie for 10 minutes, spread on the topping, and cut it into squares.
