Ingredients
- 4 1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 eggs
- 2 tb butter
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 oz ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp unbleached all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup raisins
Steps
- Warm the milk, 1/3 cup sugar, and yeast in a small bowl for 10 minutes.
- Mix the flour, salt, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and yeast mixture, then knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 3 hours.
- Stir the ricotta, 1/4 cup sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla, salt, and raisins in a bowl.
- Press the dough into a greased 9-inch springform pan, add the filling, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Bake at 350 F for 45 to 55 minutes, until the bread is golden and the filling is firm.
