- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 cup onion
- 1 cup celery
- 1 cup carrots
- 1 cup mushrooms
- 1 loaf french bread
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups turkey or chicken broth
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and butter a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Cut the French bread into cubes and toast them on a baking sheet for 10 minutes.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet and cook the onion, celery, carrots, and mushrooms for 8 minutes.
- Whisk the eggs, broth, and poultry seasoning in a large bowl.
- Toss the toasted bread and cooked vegetables with the egg mixture, then spread it in the baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes, until the center is firm and reaches 165 F.
