Ingredients
- 2 cups pasta sauce
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 tbsp garlic butter
- 1 cup shredded italian cheese blend
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- salt and black pepper (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and lightly oil a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs and bake them for 15 to 18 minutes, until they reach 160 F.
- Warm the pasta sauce in a 10-inch skillet over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, then add the meatballs.
- Brush the hoagie rolls with garlic butter and toast them at 400 F for 3 minutes.
- Fill the rolls with meatballs and sauce, cover with Italian cheese, and bake for 3 minutes until melted.
