1/8 tsp cardamom (optional)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp olive oil (optional)
1/4 cup chopped candied ginger (optional)

Steps

Warm the coconut milk, ginger, maple syrup, salt, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and cardamom in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the vanilla and olive oil.
Cool the mixture for 30 minutes, cover it, and refrigerate it for 4 hours.
Remove the ginger slices, churn the cold mixture in an ice cream maker, and stir in the candied ginger.
Transfer the ice cream to a covered container and freeze it for 2 hours before scooping.
