Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup fancy molasses
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 batch cream cheese frosting

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-inch square baking pan with cooking oil.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the brown sugar, molasses, and eggs, then stir in the flour, ginger, cinnamon, and allspice.
  4. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center is set and the eggs are fully cooked.
  5. Cool the brownies completely, then spread the cream cheese frosting over the top.
