Ingredients
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1 package (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Steps
- Stir the warm water and yeast together in a large bowl, then rest for 5 minutes.
- Warm the milk with 6 tablespoons butter, sugar, and salt until the butter melts.
- Mix the milk mixture, egg, and flour into the yeast mixture until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8 minutes.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 pieces, tie each piece into a knot, and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Heat the oven to 400 F and bake the knots for 15 minutes.
- Melt the remaining butter with garlic powder, parsley, salt, and parmesan, then brush it over the hot knots.
