Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 4 cups peaches
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch pan with cooking oil.
- Mix flour, one cup sugar, baking powder, and salt, then blend in butter, egg, and vanilla until crumbly.
- Press half the crumb mixture into the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
- Stir peaches with the remaining sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spread the peach mixture over the crust and cover it with the remaining crumbs.
- Bake for 35 minutes, then cool the bars in the pan for 20 minutes before cutting.
