Ingredients
- 3/4 cup crisco shortening
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup half-and-half cream or 1 cup milk
- 1 cup miniature chocolate chip
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 12-cup muffin pan with shortening.
- Beat the shortening and sugar until smooth, then beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- Whisk the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry mixture and half-and-half to the shortening mixture, alternating between them.
- Fold in the miniature chocolate chips.
- Fill the muffin cups two-thirds full and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until the centers are set.
