10 potatoes

1 tsp salt
1/2 quart 2 cups whipping cream
1/2 lb mushrooms
1 onion
2 carrots
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tbsp chopped dill (optional)
olive oil for frying (optional)

Steps

Heat the oven to 400 F and lightly oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
Fry the sliced onion, carrots, mushrooms, and garlic in oil in a large skillet for 8 minutes.
Layer the sliced potatoes and fried vegetables in the dish, pour over the cream, and add the bay leaves.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes, until the potatoes are nearly tender.
Remove the foil, sprinkle on the Parmesan, and bake for 5 minutes until bubbling.
