Ingredients
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large shallot
- 3 1/2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- to taste kosher salt & ground black pepper (optional)
- 3 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- 3 1/2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley (optional)
Steps
- Melt the butter in a large deep skillet over medium heat and cook the shallot and garlic for 3 minutes.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, then cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the wine and chicken broth, and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the fettuccine and cook uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring often, until tender.
- Stir in the cream cheese and milk until smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Mix in the parmesan and parsley, then season with salt and pepper.
