Ingredients

  • 1 16.5 oz. pillsbury sugar cookie dough roll
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 4 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and coat a 9-by-13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. Press the cookie dough evenly into the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Melt the butter, then whisk it with the egg, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, cider vinegar, and salt.
  4. Stir in the pecans and chopped chocolate.
  5. Spread the topping over the warm crust and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center is firm and reaches 165 F.
  6. Cool the bars in the pan for 25 minutes before cutting.
