- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk for thinning
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F.
- Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with oil.
- Beat the 3/4 cup butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla, then stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, press the dough into the pan, and bake for 20 to 22 minutes until set.
- Beat the remaining butter, powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Cool the cookie cake completely for 10 minutes, then spread the frosting over it.
