Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup thickly shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
Steps
- Heat the oven to 425 F and line a baking sheet.
- Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until coarse crumbs form, then fold in the cheddar.
- Stir in the buttermilk just until combined, drop eight portions onto the sheet, and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
- Melt the remaining butter with the garlic powder and parsley while the biscuits bake.
- Brush the hot biscuits with the garlic butter and rest them for 3 minutes.
