8 oz bucatini
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (optional)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 heaping cup finely grated pecorino romano cheese

Steps

Boil the bucatini in a large pot of salted water for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente.
Warm the olive oil and black pepper in a large skillet over medium-low heat for 1 minute.
Reserve 1 cup pasta water, drain the bucatini, and add it to the skillet with the butter.
