Ingredients
- 1 loaf french baguette
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 lb sirloin tips
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- salt and pepper
- fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 425 F and slice the baguette into 15 pieces.
- Brush the slices with butter and toast them on a baking sheet for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Simmer the balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, until thickened.
- Season the sirloin tips with salt and pepper, then sear them in a hot oiled skillet for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until they reach 145 F.
- Mix the blue cheese with milk and minced garlic until spreadable.
- Slice the rested steak, spread the cheese mixture on the toast, and top with steak and balsamic reduction.
