Ingredients
- 1 lb uncooked rigatoni
- 6 small fresh tomatoes
- 1 cans (12 oz) crushed or diced tomatoes
- 2 1/2 cups your favorite jarred tomato sauce
- 1 small onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup fresh basil
- 1/2 block grated cheese
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Boil the rigatoni in salted water until barely tender, then drain it.
- Cook the chopped onion and garlic in olive oil in a large skillet for 4 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce, then simmer for 3 minutes.
- Mix the pasta, sauce, tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper in the baking dish.
- Top with grated cheese and bake for 12 minutes, until bubbling and hot.
