Ingredients
- 2/3 cup raisins
- 2 tbsp dark or spiced rum
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 4 cups packed challah or brioche cubes

Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-by-8-inch baking dish with butter.
- Stir the raisins and rum together, then let them stand for 10 minutes.
- Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla in a large bowl.
- Fold in the bread cubes, diced apple, and rum-soaked raisins, then transfer the mixture to the dish.
- Let the pudding stand for 15 minutes before baking.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until golden and the center reaches 160 F with firm eggs.
- Cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
