- 2 lb tart apples
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and butter a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and slice the apples, then toss them with brown sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
- Spread the apples in the dish and bake for 15 minutes.
- Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt, then cut in the butter.
- Stir in the cream, spoon the dough over the apples, and bake for 40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
