Ingredients
- 1 box (15 1/4 oz) white cake mix
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 4 large egg whites
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking oil.
- Stir the cake mix, flour, sugar, poppy seeds, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk in the milk, oil, almond extract, vanilla, sour cream, and egg whites until smooth.
- Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 minutes, until the center is set.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 5 minutes while whipping the cream, powdered sugar, and pudding mix until firm.
- Spread the whipped topping over the warm cake and cool it completely before cutting.
