Strawberry Cream Cake

A strawberry-studded white cake is baked, cooled, and covered with vanilla cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry jello
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cool whip
  • 1 box (3 2/5 oz) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pint strawberries

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking oil.
  2. Beat the cake mix, vegetable oil, strawberry gelatin, eggs, sugar, flour, chopped strawberries, and one-half cup milk until smooth.
  3. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the center is firm.
  4. Cool the cake completely in the pan for about 45 minutes.
  5. Beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, pudding mix, one and one-half cups milk, and vanilla until smooth, then fold in the whipped topping.
  6. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and top with sliced strawberries.
