- 1 small green pepper
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 5/8 cups uncooked medium egg noodles
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 3/4 cups water
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 4 strips bacon
Steps
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 6 minutes, then crumble it.
- Cook the ground beef, green pepper, and onion in the skillet for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up the beef until it reaches 160 F.
- Stir in the noodles, diced tomatoes, water, chili sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Cover the skillet and simmer over medium-low heat for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring twice, until the noodles are tender.
- Stir in the crumbled bacon and cook uncovered for 1 minute before serving.
