Ingredients
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3/4 lb ground italian sausage
- 1/4 onion
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup basil pesto
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- salt to taste (optional)
- 2 pkgs refrigerated biscuits
- 8 oz shredded italian cheese blend
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and grease a large round baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then cook the sausage and onion for 8 minutes.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes, pesto, cream cheese, pepper, and salt until smooth.
- Separate the biscuits, flatten them, and place filling and shredded cheese in the center of each one.
- Arrange the filled biscuits in a ring in the pan, leaving a small center opening.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the biscuits are golden and the sausage reaches 160 F.
