Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 large honeycrisp apple
- 3 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 large scoops french vanilla ice cream
Steps
- Cook the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 8 minutes, swirling the pan until it melts and turns amber.
- Slowly whisk in the heavy cream, then add the butter and sea salt and simmer for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Dice the apple and cook it with brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon water in a skillet over medium heat for 8 minutes until tender.
- Scoop the ice cream into four bowls, top with warm apples, and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
