- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 8 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cans (15 oz) pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pecans toasted and chopped (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp orange juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Whisk the flour, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl.
- Beat the butter and granulated sugar, then beat in the eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the dry mixture into the pumpkin mixture and spread the batter in the pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the center is set, then cool for 10 minutes.
- Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, orange juice, salt, and heavy cream until smooth, then spread it over the cake.
